This website serves as a platform for my work as an educator, researcher, and practitioner. Whether you arrived as a student, a colleague, a business owner, a policymaker, or simply someone curious about how business shapes everyday life, my goal is the same: to make complex ideas practical, accessible, and grounded in the real world.

Let me introduce myself.

I’m Dr. JC Phelps. I teach business (economics, finance, and marketing) at the university level, and I also spend a great deal of my time working alongside entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and communities across Kentucky through statewide training and consulting. My work lives at the intersection of classrooms and real life. I care deeply about helping people understand how business decisions shape organizations, careers, economic development, and communities.

Here, you can expect a mix of teaching resources, essays and commentary, research-informed insights, and reflections on business, markets, policy, and education. Some posts will be academic in nature. Others will be conversational. All are shaped by the same belief: understanding how systems work empowers better choices, whether in a classroom, a boardroom, or a community.
